Our story
Our story begins when with me, Ignacio Beamonte, and my wife, Loreto Romero, met in 1973 as students of Oceanography at the Marine Sciences School of the University of Baja California (UABC) Ensenada, México. Together we started the first formal harvestings of sea vegetables for direct human use in 1977 while studying and practicing Macrobiotics as a lifestyle. In 1979 we received an official permit for the experimental harvesting of Sea Vegetables, the first of its kind in Mexico.
